Since 1994, Durrell Garman has dealt extensively with a broad spectrum of safety and loss control in construction. Mr. Garman was hired by The Graham Company to assume the role of Senior Safety Consultant. He currently manages clients in the construction, environmental, property management, warehouse distribution, and manufacturing industries. In addition to his client consulting work, Mr. Garman is actively involved with several large Owner Controlled Insurance Programs.

Prior to coming to The Graham Company in 2004, Mr. Garman worked for Turner Construction Company where he started as a Project Superintendent. Responsibilities included scheduling, contractor coordination, site supervision, tracking material, and complying with the corporate safety program.

Mr. Garman then moved into a Project Safety Manager position with Turner Construction Company. He was responsible for site safety orientations, site safety audits, safety training, coordination of pre-planning meetings, accident investigation, and internal monthly reporting. Some of the larger projects he was involved in include the following: Philadelphia Airport, The National Constitution Center, Philadelphia Civic Center, Lincoln Financial Field and Aventis Pasteur. Mr. Garman was also directly responsible for and managed the day-to-day site safety on a Contractor Controlled Insurance Program.

With The Graham Company, Mr. Garman has reviewed, developed and implemented complete safety and health programs, conducted training on various topics related to construction including fall protection, safe crane management, rigging, aerial lift safety, and scaffolds. He has performed loss analysis to determine trends, identified potential loss producing exposures and recommended corrective actions and developed and reviewed crane hoist plans and rigging plans for construction clients. Mr. Garman has assisted clients during OSHA/MOSH Inspections along with incident investigations.

Mr. Garman received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Occupational Safety and Hygiene Management from Millersville University in 1994. Mr. Garman’s certifications include: Adult First Aid & CPR, NCCCO Signalperson and Rigger Level I, authorized to instruct the 10 and 30-Hour OSHA Construction and General Industry Outreach Programs and Construction Health and Safety Technician.
